Coorg is situated on the Western Ghats of Karnataka in South India. For the adventurous at heart, it is an absolute treat. Coorg is like a dreamland place for me. It has got beautiful  nature, romance in the mountains, feel the tingle of the cool and gentle breeze, leaves flutter in dance-like movements and hear sounds of birds fill the air, then Coorg is just the place for you.

One fine day we early in the morning around 7am we left for the beautiful god gifted garden with full tank fuel. We planned the trip for 2night and 3 days. We got booked through club Mahindra resort. As usual we took the mysore road then Ramnagaram Maddur  > Mandya  > Srirangapatna. After Srirangapatna there is a huge signboard thanking visitors for visiting Srirangapatna. To reach kushalnagar we don’t have to go till mysore.

you will get a turn on your right called the Hunsur Road which bypasses Mysore City and touches SH-88 that takes you to Kushal Nagar. Around 20km the road is not so good. After reaching to kushal nagar We decided to visit the beautiful Golden Temple (Tibetan Monastery) at Bylekuppe near Kushal Nagar on our way to Madikeri because we wanted to go Dubare Elephant Camp. Tibetan Monastery is second largest Monastery in India.

After visiting Monastery we decide to have lunch and finishing lunch left for Dubare Elephant Camp. From the main road there is a left turn road which goes inside. There is also board for Dubare Elephant Camp.Road is very narrow. It is very difficult to pass two car. Camp is on the side of kaveri river. After reaching to camp decided to go for river rafting its about 7km rafting. For rafting they charge 800 bux. It was really good experience. Due to rafting cloth got wet. After changing we moved with a small boat to the other side of the river to visit elephant camp. There are few elephants and its evening time they went back towards jungle.

Its almost 5:45 pm decided to go for resort. On the way to resort we have seen a KALI temple on the left hand side, need to climb to stair case. It was drizzling and lot of mist. It was my first time driving experience with mist condition even I cant see the road at all. I was following through a cab back side light and my driving speed was 20km/hr. It was really best experience for me. It was during August end.Any how around 5 to 6km of driving we have reached the beautifull place coorg and we went back to our resort.

Next day morning after breakfast we started to visit the surroundings,First we have visited the famous most beautiful and oldest Omkareshwara Temple, in Coorg, was built by Lingarajendra in 1820.

After  Omkareshwara Temple we left for Abbey falls Located at a distance of 9km from the town of Madikeri, the Abbey falls produces a spectacular sight of cascading water.

Returning from Abbey falls on the way you can visit Raja's Tomb Gaddige or the Tomb of Virarajendra and Lingarajendra at madikere is one of the importants monuments in the Coorg. Lingarajendra's tomb was built in 1820.

By that time we returned from that place it was 3pm and we had lunch at madikhere town. After lunch decided to go to Bagamandala and Talacauveri. Its already 4pm we left for Talacauveri. It was heavily raining. From madikhere town to Talakauveri at a distance of around 40 km. There was a pin drop silence on the road but i was enjoying the driving. After Bagamandala we need to go for Talakauveri. It was already late we decided to go to Talakauveri first. It was full of Mist even very difficult to see the road with the help of fog lamp. Anyhow we have reached Talakauveri the birth place of Kaveri, and very cold wind was blowing. Only 3 to 4 people was there in that time and was empty can't see people surrounding. We have spent around 20min over there. On the way we have visited VIEW POINT and Bagamandala. Around 7:30 pm  we back to madikhere town.

We visited Raja's seat it is a small pavilion with a garden surrounding it, offering a view of the garden valley below. According to Legend the kings of Coorg spend their evenings here. The spectacular sunset and far stretching green mountains will take ones breath away.

Next day morning we are leaving the resort as well as the beautiful Scotlant of India on way back to our home. On the way we have visited the beautiful Harangi Dam at Kushalnagar.

Close by Cauveri Nishargadhama towards madikhere off the state highway. Nishargadhama is a 25 acre island formed by Kauveri river with bamboos, teak, sandalhood trees streams and wild life covering it.

At Nishargadhama you can find deer, peacocks etc. Nishargadhama is also famous for its hanging bridge which connects the island and helps traveller to cross the cauveri river. You can enjoy watching Nishagadhama's natural beauty. There is also jungle cottages available.

Trip to Coorg was memorable. We have missed Nagarahole National Park due to time frame. From madikhere town its approximately 93km. We will travel again to Nagarahole. Keep visit.
